Army Details

Here is the definitive scoop:

I will be leaving Monday night (8-16-10), to stay in a hotel, from where we will be transported, early Tuesday morning. On Tuesday I will go through processing at MEPS and will be sent to Fort Leonard wood in Missouri. I will be at Basic Training for nine weeks. I will have minimal contact with the outside world from there. I will be allowed to send and receive mail. I intend to write updates to Tiffanie that she will post on this blog. After the initial nine weeks, I will go to my specialized training (AIT). I will be in Missouri for six months overall.

Initially, Tiffanie and the kids will spend some time with her mother and step-father. After the first six weeks or so, the fam will move to Denver and stay with Joe and Jackie Monarez. We are hoping to be stationed in Colorado Springs or Germany.

I will post (via Tiffanie) a mailing address and any pertinent information concerning mail once I have it. For those of you wondering what kind of cigars to send (not a hint- a serious response to some questions that have been raised), I will make a list... Just remember that I don't think that I can receive them in basic, I will be able to put cigars to good use in my AIT though!

Thanks for all the love that you all have sent our way. Thanks for all of the interest that you have had for me and my family. Many of you have inspired me and encouraged me in ways that you will never know; those thoughts and prayers will sustain me. Also, much thanks to the many of you who have surrounded Tiffanie with moral support, and please don't stop. I can't be there for her, but I can be away with confidence because I believe in the love that yall have for my family.
