Things I Want My Kids To Know #4: Only Buy it if You Love it

I want my children to have the freedom to purchase on a different principle than many in our society. I want them to learn to only purchase things that they love. If something that is loved is unaffordable, then wait; save. Never purchase because "it's a good deal." While the best deal for the loved item should always be pursued, one should never buy a compromised version or purchase something that would otherwise be passed up because it is a deal that is "too good."

I hope to foster in my children appreciation for quality over quantity- A kind of exquisite minimalism where all things had are things that are loved, and things that are not loved are not had.
