Quick Update

It is Thursday morning and I just finished the medical portion of my in processing. My in processing is now complete. I will be going to my unit tomorrow. I feel, for the first time, like I am part of the Army. Treatment for us privates is much more adult-like and humane than it was at either Basic training or AIT. It is wonderful to have that stuff behind me. What I hear so far is that my unit is scheduled to deploy sometime after May of 2012. That gives me about a year with the fam and the new baby Victoria Grace Necole who is expected any day now. If all goes as planned, I will be reunited with them on Sunday (and Victoria will wait to make her entrance until we have at least found a place to live).

I think Wifey and I will really enjoy Fort Lewis and the surrounding cities. Seattle is right up our ally with all of its tree hugging glory. I am now free to smoke cigars, have my occasional sip of bourbon and be an all around adult. I will cherish every moment with my family even more than I did before I enlisted. Time away from them really did make my heart grow fonder.

To all of you who have supported us in the many ways that yall have, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you... we can't express it enough. I am assuming that if you are reading this page you are aware of how difficult the past couple of years have been for us. We would not have been able to make it through without yall cheering us on through the various ways in which you have.

Now on to the next phase. I truly believe that this next chapter of the Marquez family will prove to be spectacular. I believe that we are on an upswing that will dwarf the valley from whence we came. We are excited. I will keep you posted.
