The Mundane as Medium

In the world of the Bible, inanimate objects could be deemed clean or unclean, holy or unholy.  Ordinary, otherwise neutral, items were often drafted into the service of an individual or a group as medium for worship.  Wood, fabric, metal, bread, oil... otherwise ordinary items secured and sanctified as medium for worship.

I intend to secure the world around me and to sanctify it into my service as medium for worship.  I will take the secular, the mundane, the ordinary, the forgotten, the taken-for-granted, the intended-for-evil and repurpose those things, sanctify them, and masterfully, skillfully use them to express the message of my soul, the worship of my heart.  I will hammer, and stretch; sow and weave with artisanal confidence and acuity until my worship has interrupted space and time, until it has been savored.
